Windows Live Local Offers a Unique View of Where the Stars Hang Out

Celebrity watchers rejoice! Today, Microsoft Corp.’s online local search and mapping service, Windows Live™ Local, launched CelebFavorites, a Web site that pinpoints the favorite haunts of eight of the world’s top athletes and entertainers, including Eva Longoria, Anna Kournikova, Jeff Bridges and Alex Rodriguez. Each celebrity has used the site to highlight his or her favorite restaurants, hotels, clubs, shops, museums or places to hang out.

CelebFavorites.com enables people to see exactly where each celebrity hangout is on the Windows Live Local map, get directions to and from each location, click through to the Web site of each business or point of interest, and even mark their own favorite places with “pushpins” and e-mail them to friends and family.

These are the celebrities participating and their respective cities:

  • Stacy Keibler — Washington, D.C., and Baltimore
  • Anna Kournikova — Miami

Windows Live Mail with 2GB storage launch expected in June

Windows Live Mail is expected to launch in June and will offer a 2GB storage. The webbased email service has a Outllook look and feel. The email can also be read offline using the Desktop Live Mail client, this client will also be able to access IMAP and POP account. The service will be free but ad based. It will also be possible to get you Live Mail in to Outlook but that will cost 19 Euro a year. Play against Xbox360 gamer on PC in Vista

Microsoft Corp. co-founder Bill Gates on Tuesday announced a cross-platform gaming service that integrates games played on cell phones, Xbox 360 consoles and the upcoming Windows Vista operating system. The "Live Anywhere" service will be available as part of Windows Vista, Microsoft's next-generation PC operating system. The consumer version is scheduled for release early next year. "It means that you have one online community," Gates said in a news conference. "This platform can really unleash developers to do amazing new things."
